Omolola Coker has been selected as a finalist in the inaugural MYMA Art Prize, an innovative platform that passionately celebrates the emerging talents of early to mid-career artists from Ghana and Nigeria. This prestigious prize is organized by the family of Dr. Myma Belo-Osagie, in honor of her profound love and dedicated patronage to art.
She is exhibiting alongside three fellow artists, each practicing in diverse disciplines across photography, sculpture, and installation:
The MYMA Art Prize is curated by Ugonna Ibe-Ejiogu of Yenwa Gallery. It commenced with an initial cohort of eleven participants, who embarked on an intensive virtual development program. This program included curatorial and industry mentorship, culminating in a group exhibition that implements the invaluable lessons acquired. Across painting, photography, sculpture, and installation, the artists consider what is inherited, received, and returned through form.
